As the year 2020 draws to a close, we at Carter & Tani send you our greetings and best wishes this holiday season. This was a historic year, with the COVID pandemic affecting every aspect of life and business all over the globe. We hope you stayed well, or if you did get the virus, you are on the mend.
Fortunately, no one on our staff, or their families, contracted the virus. We have had plenty of work, which we never take for granted. We are working from home, except for Gretchen, who is at the office daily coordinating and keeping our firm together. Technology has enabled us to stay connected with each other, our clients, and the governmental agencies with which we do work. We are grateful that we have been able to adjust and continue to serve our clients throughout this time.
As we approach the 30th anniversary of Carter & Tani in January 2021, we acknowledge with gratitude and appreciation our relationships with our valued clients and business associates, who have made it possible for the firm to reach this milestone anniversary and to expand for the future. We continue this year with the tradition of making charitable contributions during the holiday season in your honor.
We have made a contribution to Mercy Homes in Costa Rica. We and our husbands have helped build homes for this organization in the past. We recently learned that floods have destroyed or damaged many of the homes that have been built for people in need. We have also purchased a goat, a sheep and a pig through Heifer Project International which will be used to provide families around the world with increased access to medicine, school, food and a sustainable livelihood.
We also recognize how fortunate we are to have plenty of food and a warm place to come home to each night. For that reason, we have made donations on a local level to DuPage PADS which provides interim housing for the homeless and the Disciples Food Pantry, a small local food pantry where Doris volunteers. Both organizations have had challenges in meeting the needs of people during the pandemic.
It is our hope that our donations bring honor to our clients as well as bring hope to the persons who receive assistance through these organizations. Best wishes for a happy holiday season and for a much better new year for us all.
