Alissa Carter Verson

Alissa has been an associate with Carter & Tani since 2016. She focuses her practice on franchise law, representing both franchisors and franchisees. She continues to learn from both partners’ extensive franchise experience and through other professional development opportunities, including attending the annual American Bar Association Forum on Franchising. As the daughter of partner Doris Carter, Alissa is proud to become the next generation of franchise attorney and follow in her mother’s footsteps. Alissa’s legal interests also include commercial lease review and business sales and purchases.

Alissa is a member of the American Bar Association, the ABA Forum on Franchising, and the DuPage County Bar Association, where she serves as a Director on the Board of Directors and as Vice-Chair of the Business Law Section. 

Alissa graduated from Bradley University in 2010 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Business. She then attended the University of Sheffield in Sheffield, England where she received her Master of Arts in Music Management with high honors in 2011. She graduated from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in December 2015.

Outside of work, Alissa enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, parents, and family pets (including her dog and two cats). She enjoys taking classes on her Peloton indoor cycling bike, attending Fit4Mom workout classes, biking and hiking, reading, and traveling the world. She has been to 30 countries and has an ever-growing curiosity about the world around her.
