Doris Adkins Carter
Doris received her undergraduate degree with honors in Business Administration from University of Illinois in 1977 and graduated with honors from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1980. After initially practicing with a law firm in Chicago, she joined the in-house legal staff of a national franchisor in 1985 where she became involved in franchising. She has practiced franchise law since 1985.
Doris is a member of the American Bar Association, the ABA Forum on Franchising, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers.
She has served various community and philanthropic organizations and is active in her local and regional church. For the past 5 years, she has coordinated an annual mission work trip which last year took her to hurricane ravaged New Orleans.
Christine K. Tani
Christine graduated from Beloit College in 1970 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She attended Boston University Law School for two years, and transferred to Chicago Kent (IIT) School of Law, where she graduated in 1977 with High Honors. She worked for a national franchisor from 1977 to 1990, when she and Doris formed Carter & Tani.
Christine is a member of the American Bar Association, the ABA Forum on Franchising, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers.
In addition to her professional and family activities, Christine is a volunteer with many organizations. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Lifelink Corporation, a human services agency located in Bensenville, Illinois. She is active in her church, and teaches confirmation to 7th and 8th graders. For the past five summers, she has traveled to Central America, spending a week working on Habitat for Humanity projects in Honduras, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.
